JB Berkow believes her passion for European scenes comes from how she was raised. Coming to America when she was 15, JB's mother continued to retain her heritage into adulthood and raised JB in a very traditional European manner. Her intense love and reverence for the age and beauty of her chosen subjects comes through in the intricate details and rich colors that she mixes and tubes herself. JB Berkow’s work has such an overpowering sense of reality that most people feel they can enter her scenes by just walking into the canvas.
